Dortmund is the second largest city in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the largest city in the Ruhr district. Although it is mainly known as an economic location, Dortmund also has many buildings and other attractions that are worth seeing. Particularly famous sites in the city are the Reinoldikirche, the Florian Tower and the Dortmund U-Tower – the former headquarters of the Brewery Union. Dortmund also has regular events on offer, including the Internationale Kulturtage Dortmund (International Day of Culture), which attracts a huge variety of mainly European visitors to the city. In collaboration with the city of Cologne, the International Women’s Film Festival Dortmund/Cologne takes place every two years. Known locally as “die Stadt im Pott”, Dortmund therefore has all kinds of cultural and international variety to offer.
Take the U41, U45, U47 or U49 underground lines to Dortmund Hauptbahnhof (main railway station) and take the exit marked "Burgtor". The KERN office is located on the second floor of the Alte Post building, approximately 100 metres on foot past the NH hotel.
