Dresden is not just the capital city of the Free State of Saxony, but it is also geographically situated in the centre. For this reason, the state’s government cultural institutions are also concentrated in Dresden, where the state capital is both an internationally renowned city of art and culture and a World Heritage Site.
As well as valuable art collections and impressive buildings – the Frauenkirche being just one of many – Dresden is also particularly well known for its Semperoper opera house. There are a great number of choirs and orchestras in the city, including the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra. This focus on culture attracts many visitors from all over the world.
Take tram lines 1, 2, 8, 9, 11 or 12 or bus route 75 to "Postplatz". From there, follow Wilsdruffer Straße in the direction of Altmarkt. At Altmarkt, turn left onto Schloßstraße. The KERN office is located on Schloßstraße 3, directly opposite the Kulturpalast.
From the A14 towards Dresden: take the A4 exit on the left. Exit the motorway at the motorway junction marked "Nossen". This motorway junction merges onto the A4. Take the exit towards Dresden Altstadt. Turn right onto the B6/Meissner Landstraße. Continue straight along the B6 onto Hamburger Straße. Hamburger Straße becomes Schäferstraße, which then becomes Schweriner Straße. Turn left onto Hertha-Lindner-Straße. Turn right onto Ostra-Allee, which then becomes Sophienstraße. Turn right onto Kleine Brüdergasse. You will then arrive at Schloßstraße, where the KERN office is located.
There is a car park straight ahead, located behind the Kulturpalast building.
